Mascara is one of my favorite beauty products to use – I pretty much use it everyday so it has to be easy on the lashes and make for great longtime wear. Oh and I am not a fan of waterproof mascara. And I know it probably would make sense to use a waterproof formula living in Florida but, like over-plucked brows and putting on glitter nail polish without a basecoat, things can get really dicey and sparse using heavy formulas that make lashes too stiff and frankly just doesn’t come off when you want or need it to.
So in the spirit of chilly weather and perfectly winged eyeliner I am sharing my November beauty pick of the month that has truly left my lashes wanting for nothing. I’ve been using Bellimisa Masterful Eyes Mascara for about 2 weeks now and it looks as if it’s going to be a regular in beauty product stash – yes there is a stash and though it doesn’t sound like it the stash does get used and perused throughout the year.
No Propylene Glycol
(a couple of these look weird but I promise you can learn more by looking them up on campaign for safe cosmetics)
castor seed oil
Glides on with ease – no joke – no tugging, pulling or zig zag wiggling necessary
Truly wearable all day – most days I’m out the door and on the go until after the kiddos are down for bedtime and I’ve gotten at least 2 hours worth of homework in but this sticks around through it all
Remember how I said I don’t do waterproof formulas? Well this has a water-resistant finish which apparently is just what I need to keep the Florida heat from sliding off my lashes.
And best of all it is cruelty-free.
So this was my first go at it – early a.m. makeup play straight out of the shower – and I actually think I went on with more of a light hand but I still loved the outcome. I applied two light coats that held on for the better part of the day but completely washed off during my evening cleansing routine.
This is my second go ’round with Bellimisa Masterful Eyes Mascara just a few days ago and I applied four coats to both lashes and flippin fell in love!
Wore it well into the evening but tried to get as much even lighting going as possible standing in my bedroom to get the shot. You can see there is no smudging, no raccoon rings and best of all no touch-ups needed.
where to buy
So, interestingly enough, this product has it’s own subscription service. Which under normal circumstances would mess with my need for instant gratification but I buy mascara at least once every couple of months so this sounds like something sent from the “heavens of common sense”. And for the type of product it is I think it’s quite brilliant! I don’t use the same tube of mascara for more than 3 months and it is one of the products that is replaced the most often when it comes to color cosmetics.
Bellimisa offers 30 day and 60 day subscription cycles for $16 – this includes free shipping and no commitment (meaning you aren’t locked into any sort of contract) And they sweetened the deal with a discount code for my readers – bblogger – that gets all of us $2 off!
