Who: Sugar Shack Coffee & Donuts – locally owned and operated
Where: Historic Cocoa Village – Cocoa, FL
What: Coffee, Donuts, Bagels
We – the Mister and I – came across the best little donut shop in Historic Cocoa Village this morning. We both left the house without coffee – almost never happens but it did this time – and I was working away from the office for the day in Historic Cocoa Village so if a caffeine fix was going to happen it was now or never. GPS guided us a short walk to the next city block to Sugar Shack Donuts & Coffee shop. Upon entering the shop we were greeted by the friendliest barista I’ve ever met and in less than 5 minutes we walked out with light roast Red Eye (coffee with a one shot of espresso) coffees blended with maple spice and some other delightful flavor she recommended. The coffee was delicious and I promised my husband I’d go back for donuts on the way home from the event I was working…and I did.
Kind of love their coffee – really! We are die-hard Tim Horton’s fans – order it from Amazon when we run out of what my father in-law brings us on his visits from Canada – but I think we’ve found something new we can tune our caffeine palettes to. It was smooth and even after it got cold it was still quite tasty. We don’t use creamer but we did have a maple spice flavor blend added so the true test will be having it black which is how we normally drink our coffee.
These are the half dozen donuts that made it home with me. All have some sort of caramel, vanilla creme or chocolate flavor – one of course is pumpkin spice – but what I love most is that they are made throughout the day rather than just a mass production in the morning. A girl can get used to that!
And of course I shared the sugar wealth with my kiddos and we all enjoyed our first Sugar Shack experience hanging out on the back patio and filling each other in on our accomplishments of the day. And we did save some for my hubby – sea salt and caramel flavor because I know for certain it’s his weakness. Looking forward to our next coffee date because I know exactly where we’ll be heading to.
