I have a “thing” for makeup primers. My husband finds it hilarious that I would even consider putting something on my face that sounds as if we’re prepping a car or a wall for painting. But technically I am prepping my face for “painting”…
I ordered this product from drugstore.com for about $28…saw it featured on QVC but I have very little patience when it comes to shipping time.
The bottle dispenser itself works ideally…one pump should do ya. I had some trouble though blending the primer at first. Maybe it was because I was used to using a different formula for so long, a Smashbox brand with Dermaxyl, and if you’ve ever even sampled you know that the fleshy translucent shade blends into any skin tone with perfection, so I’ve been spoiled with that. The “happy medium” with this spackle was found when I mixed it with my liquid foundation. It blended well + held throughout the day fairly well.
My not so happy medium…the ingredients. More + more I’m finding that even high-end cosmetic brands contain a multitude of parabens that just aren’t good for anyone. This product is one of them. Usually I check + double check before I even buy makeup but for one reason or another I missed it on this one. And unfortunately my skin can’t handle that kind of abuse so this one is going to go in the toss’em drawer until I need the bottle for something else which is just too bad because if it weren’t for the yucky parabens I could actually use this throughout the summer when I use liquid or cream foundation.
