Whew! So this is already week 4 of our cruelty free sharing + it happens to be another one of my heavily loved product topics, lips! I have a ton of lipsticks that I’ve come to love over the last couple of years but as you know I only review + share the animal friendly brands. I do have some products that (when I purchased) were cruelty free but have since changed their no animal testing stance that I still use but don’t promote or share those any longer so quite a few brands were left out of this post. But the good news is that the brands/products that I am showing + sharing are the ones that I am currently using.
In this category I was able to narrow down to three brands but there are four products. You will understand why when I get to it but the fourth product just couldn’t be left out. These are what I pretty much use daily + without fail because they blend so well with my every day style.
Prestige Total Intensity Lip Crayon – Bare It All
This nudie but goodie is pretty amazing. Sometimes it’s hard finding a good fleshy tone color that doesn’t make your lips look ashy or blend so completely with your skin tone that your lips disappear entirely. There is a fine balance needed between showing a little color while rocking a natural lip look. This shade nails it. Plus it wears like a lip balm + lipstick rolled into one. It’s a hybrid + I love it. Although I do have a natural lip liner that I love I don’t use it when using this. It would be to heavy for the formula, meaning, it just isn’t necessary.
Kryolan Lip N’ Cheek (water-resistant cream) – Dahlia
It probably seems a little off that I’m using a cream formula during this time of the year. It gets so hot + humid down here that I don’t know if I actually have any other choice. I wear face powder pretty much year round + powder blush during most of the year except for the summer time. Either I use a bronzing blush, cream blush or no blush at all because powder plush doesn’t really stand a chance in this weather. Using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I first dab a little of the cream on the back of my hand, + then blot it on to the brush. I also use this as a light stain on my lips since it has a dual use. But I love this formula in particular because it is water-resistant which means there’s less of a chance of it sliding down my face during the day. Once I’ve put my makeup on for the day I am pretty much done with mirrors so it’s good to know that I’m not walking around looking like a melting clown!
Kryolan Faceliner – Color Code 31 + Color Code 34
So what’s great about these particular liners is that they can be used for the eyes + lips. As far as I can tell the colors don’t have names just numbers. I had to choose them both because they both have really great staying power but one is for a nude lip + the other is for a red lip. As a woman who is a huge fan of both shades it only made sense that I share both.
Those are some of my cruelty free lip product shares. I was slightly bummed that I couldn’t add more but I’ve got all summer long to share. What are some of your favorite cruelty free colors? Or do you have a non cruelty free color you want to find a replacement for? Let me know, I’d love to help!
