The “hot” season is truly upon us down here in South Florida. Who am I kidding? It’s always upon us! And with that I have a confession to make. I seriously despise buying my kids popsicles. Those things that I have to trek to the freezer section of the store for, negotiate my kiddos to agree on one + then wonder just how long those things have actually been on the shelf.
Last weekend I put my popsicle buying foot down + decided to let my kids make their own frozen treats. Since it was a holiday weekend I had my hubby pick up festive flavors + let the kids do the pouring.
What you need:
1-2 Popsicle Molds – Pretty sure we got ours from the dollar store
Flavored drink of choice – We used red, white + blue Gatorade
Patience – you may not need but your kids certainly will!
We’ve made these twice so far since last weekend + I haven’t heard anymore talk of the store bought stuff. You can use other flavors too. We’ll be working on apple, mixing yogurts, fruits + what ever other tasty treats we can dream up. Hope you enjoyed our easy diy summer popsicles!
